BANGKOK, 27 February 2016 (NNT) – Government spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd confirmed that there will be enough water for consumption and maintaining of an ecological system throughout the dry season.
Most farmers might fear that there will not be enough water to grow rice. However, if some farmers continued to grow rice during dry season, the government confirmed that such occupation would be carried out at the farmers' own risks.
A total of 46 districts and 12 provinces have been declared drought-affected areas where the provincial governors can approve relief aid for respective districts and areas or send for water trucks or pumps.
The cabinet has approved a budget of over 93 billion baht to help farmers through the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives.
