Floods kill 800 people in southeast Asia

The situation across south east Asia remains serious, as rains continue to pound countries such as Thailand and the fear of waterborne diseases caused by flooding looms.
The UN’s relief agency OCHA says more than 800 people have been killed in Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and the Philippines since July this year and the heavy rains have affected almost 8 million people.
What’s worse, the monsoons are likely to continue until at least the end of October.
Aditya Mehta spoke to OCHA’s Kirsten Mildren about how the countries are coping, after almost four months of relentless monsoons.
