BURIRAM, 20 February 2016 (NNT) – Provincial authorities are currently supplying water to villagers in areas severely affected by droughts.

Villagers in Baan Nong Kwang and Baan Nong Kwang Noi villages are now suffering from severe droughts which have caused the water in ponds to dry up with the remaining volume being inadequate for tap water production. That has resulted in lack of water for consumption by about 300 families.

Phra Samran County Administrative Organization has installed 5 2,000-liter water containers in two villages to receive water supply from tankers twice daily to substitute the villages’ tap water system.

Boonkerd Wannasut, head of the county organization, said four villages have been adversely affected by the disastrous drought, viewed as the most severe so far.

He said the local organization had called for the supply of a five million baht budget to procure water pumps to fill the ponds and resume tap water production.
