ACTED joins the Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand (CCSDPT)

BANGKOK [ACTED News] – Following the start of a technical vocational training project that aims to prepare refugees from Myanmar in camps in Thailand for safe and voluntary return to their home country, supported by the European Union, ACTED Thailand has become one of the newest members of the Committee for Coordination of Services to Displaced Persons in Thailand (CCSDPT). The CCSDPT was formed in 1975 as a communications network for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) who meet on a regular basis to exchange information and to discuss their work. The CCSDPT coordinates humanitarian relief and development services for displaced persons in partnership with the Thai government, affected communities, and relevant national and international entities to promote durable solutions aimed at self-sufficiency within an enhanced protection environment. CCSDPT together with UNHCR is the focal organization involved in strategic planning initiatives and in policy debate with Thai authorities, donors and other stakeholders.
