BANGKOK, 6 October 2013 (NNT) - Twenty seven provinces are still hit by floods, affecting more than 2 million people with 31 already killed, said the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department.
Authorities have warned people in three more districts in the province of Ayutthaya, just north of Bangkok, to prepare for flooding after a large dam on the upstream of Pasak river have released more water.
The department said water has receded in nine provinces, almost all located in the North and the Northeast. Bangkok is also bracing for the inundation; however, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has expressed confidence that the capital will not be affected by floods this year.
