SAKHON NAKHON, 30 July 2014 (NNT) - The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department (DDPM) has reported flooding in 15 districts in Sakhon Nakhon and Ubon Ratchathani provinces. Officials with equipment have been sent to assist the flood hit residents and survey damage and loss.
The DDPM Director-General Chatchai Promlert said that due to the heavy rainfall in the Northeast, flooding has occurred in Sakhon Nakhon and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, affecting 15 districts, 59 sub districts, 19,183 households and 51,716 rai of agricultural farms. The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office Regions 7 and 13 have, therefore, cooperated with relevant agencies and the military to give survival kits to flood victims and supply flatboats to help transfer belongings. In addition, officials will urgently survey the damage and give assistance where ever it is most needed.
