The United Nations refugee agency --
the UNHCR -- has announced it's to start repatriating the last major group
of Tajik refugees from Afghanistan tomorrow, Friday.
The agency said the first group of 320
refugees would be leave their camp near the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif
and cross the border into Uzbekistan, travelling on to Tajikistan by train.
The Sakhi camp is believed to hold up
to seven thousand people.
More than 50-thousand Tajiks fled to
northern Afghanistan during the civil war in the former Soviet republic
four years ago.
The repatriation of the bulk of the
refugees was completed last week from the Kunduz region.
