Situation Overview
Additional heavy rains that have occurred from 24 to 25 April 2014 hampered the debris removal process of the affected communities. In addition, seven more households of Shuroobod district have been affected.
One more person has died on April 22, 2014, after staying injured for ten days following the event at the local hospital of Ziraki Jamoat of Kulyab district.
Food and non-food items have been provided to the affected population by both international community as well as national and local authorities. The Government of Tajikistan is considering relocating part of the affected families to safer districts of Khatlon province. Plans on recovery interventions for the affected households are in the process of finalization by the Government.
