Between the 25th of February and the 27th of April 2024, epiweeks 9-17, 3,945,099 consultations including 764,542 (19.4%) notifiable diseases have been reported to both Early Warning, Alert, and Response System (EWARS) in Syria Humanitarian Coordination Team (HCT) operational areas and Early Warning Alert and Response Network (EWARN) in Northwest Syria (NWS) as well as Northeast Syria (NES) which is served by both systems.

A total of 1,989 sentinel surveillance sites reported to both EWARS (1,507) and EWARN (482) between epiweeks 9 and 17, with a combined average of 92.5% completeness and 88% timeliness.

A total of 415 alerts were raised to both EWARS (306) and EWARN (109), 383 alerts were verified within 72 hours (92%), and 12 acute events were identified.

The leading causes of morbidity of all notifiable communicable diseases among all age groups were Influenza Like Illness (ILI) 550,095 (72%), Acute Diarrhea (AOD) 172,739 (23%), and Leishmaniasis 15,452 (2%).
