SITUATION ANALYSIS

In the third quarter of 2018 population displacements continued, especially in Deir-ez-Zor, Aleppo and Idlib governorates. After the establishment of a demilitarized buer zone in North-West Syria, initial return movements of IDPs were recorded. All this resulted in increased needs for water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for the IDPs and returnees that were clearly identied by the WASH Cluster partners to ensure a prompt and adequate life-saving response.

the humanitarian situation inside Rukban remains critical as minimal assistance has been delivered since January 2018 and the access to water is reportedly intermittent.
