SITUATION ANALYSIS

• During October, spiraling levels of military activities and instances of significant military escalation were reported in many provinces including Idleb, Eastern Ghouta, Hama and Aleppo. Furthermore, increased airstrikes in Hama and Aleppo governorates from September 19 to 30 impeded access to people in need.

• On the 21st of October, upon ISIL’ retreat from Al Qaryatein in Homs, 45 children went missing. Of these children, 25 returned to Al Qaryatein after escaping ISIL, however, 20 remain missing.

• Children trapped in Raqqa city were at an increasing risk of death and injury due to the ongoing fighting.
