Highlights

  • Together with partners, UNICEF reached over 4.6 million people during the first half of 2024, this represents 54% of the planned target according to Humanitarian Action for Children appeal (HAC)1 . Of those, 2.7 million are children (50% girls), 1.2 million are women and 40,885 are people and children with disabilities.
  • Families in the most severely affected and inaccessible areas were prioritized, with 12,500 people reached in difficult to access areas and 1.1 million in moderately accessible areas.
  • In 2024, UNICEF required US$ 401.7 million to provide lifesaving assistance to 8.5 million people (54% females), including 5.4 million children (51% girls), across Syria according to the Humanitarian Action for Children (HAC appeal)2 . $142,129,386 has been made available so far, leaving a $ 259,538,937 (65 per cent) gap.
