In March 2023, the humanitarian community tracked some 16,200 IDP movements across Syria, around 85 per cent less than the numbers tracked in February 2023. As in preceding months, most IDP movements were concentrated in northwest Syria, with 97 per cent occurring within Aleppo and Idleb governorates.

At the sub-district level, in Idleb governorate, Dana subdistrict received the largest number of displaced people in March with around 3,200 IDP movements. While in Aleppo governorate, Sharan sub-district received around 1,800 IDP movement, and Jandairis and Ma'btali sub-districts received around 1,700 IDP movements in each as well.

At the community level, in Idleb governorate, Mashhad Ruhin community received the largest number of displaced people, with around 1,700 movements, followed by Deir Hassan - Darhashan community which received around 500 IDP movements. In Aleppo governorate, Mseibin (Al-Bab) and Jarablus communities received around 400 IDP movements in each. These movements are estimated to be mostly incentivised by access to services and livelihoods
