As of 04 February, the ceasefire and integration agreement between the Government of Syria and the Syrian Democratic Forces (announced 30 January) has enabled the return of an estimated 36 per cent of individuals since the peak of displacement in Al-Hasakeh (146,511 on 29 January). Despite this, the security situation has remained tense in several areas of Al-Hasakeh Governorate. Security breaches resulted in secondary displacement from IDP camps near Al-Hasakeh and Qamishli and the implementation of a two-day curfew. IDPs in Al-Hasakeh primarily reside in collective centres and are in urgent need of multi-purpose cash assistance (95% of locations), non-food items including mattresses, cooking utensils, blankets (72%), food (63%), and health services including access to essential medicines (41%) as reported cases of lung infections are increasing, especially among displaced children and infants.

In Aleppo, the ceasefire agreement announced on 18 January continues to hold, enabling the return of an estimated 66 per cent of individuals displaced at the onset of the hostilities in Aleppo (138,053 on 9 January). IDPs in Aleppo are in need of food (88%), non-food items (47%), and multi-purpose cash assistance (44%).
