Between 6 February and 30 March, humanitarian partners provided assistance to 291,000 people on average each month.
Currently, a total of 107 temporary collective shelters remain open to host earthquake-affected people. In Aleppo and Lattakia, the relocation of affected people from the temporary collective shelters to the mid-term shelters has started during the week. So far, four mid-term shelters have been rehabilitated in Aleppo. In Lattakia, rehabilitation has also begun. Following a temporary interruption, child protection (CP) activities resumed in schools used as collective shelters in Aleppo.
Furthermore, 2,700 schools reopened despite having sustained earthquake-related damage which needs to be addressed.
The Syria Humanitarian Fund (SHF) has launched its second Reserve Allocation for 2023. The Allocation will support responding to the critical humanitarian needs following the earthquake. A total of US$23 million has been made available to humanitarian partners operating in affected areas.
