Syrian Arab Republic: 2017 UN Inter-Agency Humanitarian Operations (as of 13 December 2017)

Since the beginning of 2017, the UN and partners successfully delivered multi-sectoral assistance through inter-agency operations, reaching more than 810,000 people in besieged and hard-to-reach areas with dire humanitarian needs. A total of 53 inter-agency convoys have been undertaken. After completing 285 airlifts delivering almost 10,400 metric tons of humanitarian supplies to Quamishli during 2017, the airlift operation was phased out at the end of June after road access to the governorate was re-established.
In early September the airdrop operation to the besieged parts of Deir-ez-Zor city was discontinued after the road was reopened. A total of 141 airdrop rotations delivered more than 2,900 metric tons of humanitarian supplies during 2017.
