Following two days of violence and disruption of assistance in Northwest Syria on 1 and 2 July, the situation has reportedly cooled down in the Syrian non-government held areas of Northern Aleppo, while the Idleb region has remained overall unaffected. Northern Aleppo has continued to experience the partial closure of main border crossing points as well as disruptions in internet connectivity and cash flows.
All humanitarian agencies that had suspended part of their operations have now resumed their activities. UN trucks loaded with humanitarian aid have crossed into Northwest Syria.
DG ECHO continues to monitor the situation and support partners in their humanitarian operations.
Negotiations between the UN and the Government of Syria for the extension of the consent-based cross-border agreement, which allows humanitarian assistance to cross from Türkiye into Northwest Syria, are ongoing. The current authorisation for the Bab al-Hawa crossing expires next week, on 14 July.
