Syria: Hostilities continue to displace hundreds of thousands of people

On 5 July, intense air and ground-based strikes on Dar’a city and eastern and western rural areas resulted in the reported death of 18 people including 14 children and 3 women with several more injured. In south-western Syria, military operations have displaced up to 325,000 people are reported to be displaced since 17 June. Of those, up to 189,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have moved to areas near the Golan and up to 59,000 people were displaced to areas near the Al-Nasib border crossing with Jordan.

The immediate needs of displaced Syrians, many of whom are children, include shelter, water, food, medical care and sanitation.
