Over the past few days, heavy rainfall caused flooding in several parts of Northwest Syria, with inundated IDP sites and cities.
The Health Cluster identified more than 1,800 tents and households in 276 sites affected by windstorm and floods, with more than 9,700 affected individuals. The Camp Coordination and Camp Management Cluster (CCCM) reported hundreds of partially and fully damaged sites: 415 damaged camps, with up to 47% of the families in the area presumably affected.
Humanitarian partners, including DG ECHO partners, are conducting assessments and responding with ready-to-eat rations and emergency multi-purpose cash assistance. The White Helmets are on the ground, opening drainage channels and restoring access to obstructed roads.
As more rains are forecasted, increased humanitarian needs may evolve in the coming days.
