Since its inception in 2014, the Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund (SCHF) has allocated almost $1.1 billion, ensuring that lifesaving assistance reached millions of vulnerable Syrians through the cross-border modality. This would not have been possible without the generous contributions of donors, and the commitment of 123 partners, including a majority of Syrian and National NGOs, International NGOs, Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement organisations and United Nations agencies.
Over the years, the SCHF has been able to respond to crises quickly and with great impact. In 2024 alone, despite a decline in overall funding, the Fund received $72.4 million from 18 donors, and strategically allocated, $66.9 million reaching 1.73 million people in Idleb and Aleppo. During 2024, 70 per cent of SCHF funding was channeled to Syrian NGOs, among the highest proportions globally.
Syria remains one of the world’s most challenging humanitarian contexts, with over 6.8 million people in need in Idleb and Aleppo governorates alone, out of the 16.5 million in the entire country.
