Syria Cross-border Humanitarian Fund: 2024 First Standard Allocation Dashboard

The ongoing conflict in Syria continues to drive one of the most severe humanitarian crises globally, affecting a population of 4.2 million people in need in northwest Syria and compounding vulnerabilities amidst economic decline and recurrent natural disasters. With the Syria Humanitarian Response Plan being 74 per cent underfunded, the SCHF’s first Standard Allocation in 2024, launched by the Deputy Regional Humanitarian Coordinator in July with an envelope of US$ 38.1 million aims to address critical gaps in basic services in north-west Syria through coordinated multi-sectoral humanitarian interventions, supporting vulnerable internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other conflict-affected populations.

The standard allocation ensures the continuation of life-saving services and fosters community resilience through locally led interventions. The Fund continued to prioritize localization, with 68 per cent (US$ 25,9 million) of funding going to national NGOs, directly or through subgrating. The allocation promoted initiatives engaging with Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Women-Led Organizations (WLOs), Youth-Led Organizations (YLOs), and Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs) with a dedicated envelope for capacity building and tailored training sessions onprotection and community engagement.
