So far in 2017, food sector partners have reached approximately 2.51 million individuals with food assistance through cash, voucher or in-kind modality, this represents almost 100 per cent of the overall target for 2017. In Jordan, some 490,000 Syrian refugees residing in camps and communities benefited from the voucher programme via cash based transfers. Around 108,000 refugees residing in camps and 207,000 extremely vulnerable refugees living in communities received USD 28.2 per person per month, while 175,000 refugees in the host community categorized as vulnerable to food security received USD 14.1 per person per month. The school meals programme has been resumed in both camps in Jordan, reaching around 26,000 schoolchildren attending formal education via date bar distribution. In Egypt, September distribution took place from 16 to 20 September, targeting 75,232 beneficiaries (72,605 Syrian refugees and 2,627 Palestinian refugees from Syria), the food voucher value remains at EGP 400 which is equivalent to approximately USD 22.
