HIGHLIGHTS

Joint Humanitarian Convoy

  • In February, the Logistics Cluster, in collaboration with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and OCHA, organized a Joint UN Convoy to Atmeh in Idleb Governorate. This included 5 truckloads of Non-Food Items (NFIs) and 1 truckload of Food Rations. The convoy reached the final destination on 16 February, transporting WASH, shelter, health, and food items on behalf of UNHCR, UNDP, UNFPA, WHO, and WFP.

  • The Logistics Cluster is organizing the next UN Convoy from Damascus to Dar’aa Governorate on behalf of UNICEF, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNDP, and WFP. The convoy is expected to depart early next week.

  • In February, the Logistics Cluster completed the first overland transport of humanitarian cargo from Lebanon to Syria, consisting of 97 MT/535 m3 of shelter and health items.

SITUATION UPDATE

  • Frequent congestion has been reported on both sides of the Lebanese/Syrian ‘Al Masnaa’ Border Crossing due to restrictions on the number of Lebanese and Syrian vehicles allowed to cross the border.

  • The Lebanese/Syrian ‘Al Arida’ Border Crossing, temporarily closed due to security risks, re- opened on 19 February.

  • The Customs Terminal in Adra (Syria) for Vehicle Registration is currently closed due to on- going clashes, preventing transport of vehicles from Jordan to Syria.
