PAVING THE WAY TO A PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO THE CONFLICT
The EU stands with the Syrian people. It has suspended all cooperation with the Syrian regime following the start of the conflict in 2011 and is working to support a genuine political transition. The EU has not forgotten vulnerable Syrians and continues to directly support to the Syrian population inside Syria.
• Support for a UN-facilitated Syrian-led and Syrian-owned political solution to the conflict
• Support for the prosecution of persons responsible for crimes under International Law
• Justice for the families of the missing and the detained
• No EU funding for reconstruction without an inclusive Syrian-led political settlement
