Middle East and North Africa: Humanitarian Funding Update 2017 (as of 30 April 2017) [EN/AR]

  1. In 2017, Humanitarian Response Plans (HRPs) in the MENA region requested US$6.2 billion. The total amount received to date is $1.0 billion (16%), which leaves a shortfall of $5.2 billion (84%).

  2. The Syria Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP) requested US$5.58 billion. The total amount received to date is $1.65 billion (30%), which leaves a shortfall of $3.92 billion (70%).

  3. Six countries from the MENA region have contributed $116.1 million in 2017 for humanitarian operations in 6 countries, Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) and World Food Programme (WFP).

  4. The CERF has received a donation of US$3.7 million from four countries from the MENA region; Kuwait, Qatar, Turkey and United Arab Emirates; in 2017.
