SITUATION OVERVIEW
Current humanitarian situation in Syria remains dire, with over 16.5 million people in need, including 7.4 million internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Hostilities continue in regions like north-east Syria, specifically eastern Aleppo, Al-Raqqa, and Al-Hasakeh, leading to civilian casualties from explosive ordnance incidents.
Since 27 November 2024, approximately 828,000 IDPs have returned to their areas of origin, yet over 617,000 individuals remain newly displaced. Ongoing violence, coupled with a lack of basic services and infrastructure, further complicates the return process. Humanitarian efforts of local and INGOs have reached millions of people across Syria with health assistance, while winter aid has been provided to hundreds of thousands children.
Financially, the humanitarian response is critically underfunded, securing less than 10% of the $1.2 billion needed for aid through March 2025. This lack of funding threatens the sustainability of vital services, especially in health, nutrition, and protection sectors.
The UN and partners continue to adapt their strategies to address the evolving crisis, emphasizing the need for immediate support and funding to alleviate human suffering in Syria.
IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation is actively responding by providing humanitaarian aid, bread, wash and other essential supplies across the country, focusing on the most vulnerable populations.
