B. Distribution of AWD and cholera cases by governorate (as per integrated (MoH/EWARS, ACU/EWARN, WHO EWARS in NES), as of 26 November 2022
Since the last situation report, the number of confirmed and suspected cases has risen. Suspected cholera cases (AWD) have been reported from all 14 governorates, each of which has reported positive cases. Between 25 August and 26 November, 52,013 suspected cases have been reported, including 98 attributed deaths to date at a case fatality rate of 0.2%.
Of the 3,866 samples tested with rapid diagnostic tests, 1,788 have tested positive. The overall proportion of RDT-positive cases is 46.2%. To date, 2,217 stool samples have been cultured, of which 707 have tested positive for Vibrio Cholera. The positivity rate is 31.8%. In the week 47 a decrease of AWD cases (n= 4,108 cases) by 5% compared with week 46 AWD cases (n= 4,326 cases). A total of 4,123 suspected cases and 6 associated deaths have been reported from IDP camps in NES and NWS.
