"Earthquake 7.8 Strikes Syria, Devastation and Chaos Ensues"
On 06th February 2023, a powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale struck Syria and Türkiye. The epicenter was located Northwest Syria and south Türkiye. The quake caused widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure, with reports of 2,976 Casualties in Syria, and 18,219 injuries. The death toll is likely to keep raising. Emergency response teams have been deployed to the affected areas to assist with rescue operations and aid distribution.
The communities affected by the earthquake are in dire need of aid. Hundreds of homes have been destroyed or severely damaged, leaving hundreds of families without shelter. Access to basic needs such as food, and medical assistance is urgently needed for those who have been injured, beside the shelter, and urgent need to winterization kits and ready to eat meals.
Relief organizations are working tirelessly to provide aid, but they are facing significant challenges, and there is a limited supply of resources available. Too many challenges to transfer Cash through the Official Post Office in Türkiye - PTT. In addition to the disabled shipment operations due to effect of the earthquake on Türkiye.
