• Since the crisis began, over 12 million people have been displaced internally and externally, including 1.3 million people who have fled to neighboring countries.
• The crisis has also disrupted education for 12 million children and exacerbated food insecurity, making Sudan a global hunger hotspot.
• Over 25.6 million people face acute hunger, with famine-like conditions reported in some areas.
• The dry season has led to an increase in armed clashes along critical supply routes in Sudan.
• WFP’s October Market Monitor noted a 3 percent appreciation in the Sudanese pound to 2,522 SDG per USD, yet it remains 163 percent weaker compared to October 2023.
• In November, WFP reached 2.2 million people in Sudan, including access constrained areas of Darfur, Kordofans, Khartoum and Gezira.
• WFP continues using commodity vouchers through retailers in areas inaccessible for traditional food distribution due to intensified fighting
