Northern Sudan

• From 13-19 May, the ADRA-IOM team in Kosti reported a total of 2,923 individuals (587 households) passing through the transit hub in spontaneous movements, representing a 9% decrease compared to last week. Main destinations were in Upper Nile (40%), Southern Kordofan (26%), Central Equatoria (21%) and Eastern Equatoria (5%) with the remainder heading elsewhere in relatively small numbers

• During the reporting week, the ADRA-IOM team also tracked 198 individuals in government-organized returns, returning to Upper Nile (92), Southern Kordofan (78) and Northern Bahr el Ghazal (28).

• On 15 May, the pusher Jemaza with two passengers and two cargo barges left for Juba carrying 1,160 individuals (226 households) on board. At the close of the period, 3,435 individuals (1,072 households) remained at the wharf in Kosti awaiting southbound transport. No barge movement was reported this week from Kosti.
