The conflict in Sudan has led to the world’s largest displacement crisis. Over 11 million people are internally displaced in Sudan of whom 8.3 million are displaced since April 2023. Another 2.3 million people have sought safety in neighbouring countries. Sudan hosts close to 875,000 refugees and asylum-seekers, many of whom have faced multiple displacements due to the conflict. Despite the conflict, close to 10,500 people have sought international protection in Sudan since January 2024. Half of Sudan’s population, over 25 million people, are food insecure with 800,000 at critical levels. Food insecurity, fuel shortages, flooding and a cholera outbreak are causing the situation to deteriorate further
