Highlights Market and Food Security Overview - (January 2025)
In January 2026, the state capital market of Kadugli, which is monitored monthly by WFP, continued to experience severe disruptions due to ongoing siege conditions in January. These disruptions led to sharp price spikes and, in some cases, the complete unavailability of certain commodities. Consequently, data from the Kadugli market was excluded from the national analysis. For this edition, the national average is calculated using data from the remaining seventeen states. Additionally, for North Darfur, Taweela market is currently being reported instead of El Fasher.
