Sudan: Water and health service shortage in Niertete

Niertete (1 Mar.) - People in Niertete face a lack of drinking water and health services after additional IDPs came to the city. They fled to Niertete in the aftermath of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM) inter factional fighting. Adam Abdelrhman Abdel Shafi, head of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) in Niertete locality told Radio Dabanga that the additional displaced people in the area are beyond the capacity of the health centre. He added that water is also a problem as there are limited hand pumps and one water tank that can not meet the demands of the people.
