Sudan: War widows in Jonglei graduate in tailoring

The Commission for War Disabled, Widows and Orphans in Jonglei State celebrated on Wednesday the graduation of the second batch of widows who were trained in tailoring. The graduates also received sewing machines as start-up kits. The head of the Commission in the State, Deng Ajang, told Miraya FM that more than 25,000 orphans and 2,000 War Disabled persons had earlier been trained by the commission. Mr Ajang said that the second graduated batch is composed of 18 widows who were given sewing machines after getting some training. 'The commission is continuing to organize such trainings. We gave some groups motor cycles. We also gave some batches of widows, war injured and martyrs families financial assistance to improve their economical conditions' he added.
