The United Mission In Sudan (UNMIS) today welcomed the swearing in of the interim Abyei Area Administration members. The ceremony, which took place on Tuesday, is a major step in the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and the Abyei Roadmap Agreement.
UNMIS congratulates the Chief Administrator, Arop Moyak Mony and his Deputy, Rahama Abderahman Al-Nour, as well as the five members.
UNMIS reiterates its support to the new interim Abyei Area Administration and encourages its members to work in unity to implement the provisions of the Abyei Roadmap Agreement of 8 June and the CPA.
