The First Vice President of the Republic, President of Government of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, said that the relations between northern and southern Sudan will not be affected if secession took place in 2011. Addressing the Comprehensive Peace Agreement celebrations in Yambio, Kiir called for securing a better life to Sudan's future generations and finding a solution to the Darfur problem. He further urged citizens to make their voting in the general elections objective and to refrain from tribal or sectarian considerations.
Celebrations marking the fifth anniversary of the signing of the CPA began in Yambio town, Western Equatoria State, amid tight security earlier on Tuesday.
