Sudan PSEA Network : PSEA Key Messages for Induction Briefings - December 2025

Rationale

Part of the Induction Process, the Sudan PSEA Network – Checklist for Safer and Inclusive Recruitment developed in November 2025, the three following main actions should be applied:

  • Require candidates to sign the Code of Conduct (…), including a clear commitment to non-discrimination and respect for all individuals, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, gender, disability status etc. which is provided to them in a language they understand, before being offered a contract. As a good practice, the sign off of the CoC could occur during/after the induction or a PSEA orientation.
  • Include a PSEA clause in employment contracts, including when subcontracting. In the contract, outline disciplinary measures in the event of proven SEA allegations (e.g. termination of contract).
  • Include training in age- and disability-inclusive safeguarding as part of mandatory onboarding process and provide refresher courses at regular intervals during employment tenure.

N.B: The induction briefing on PSEA can be provided to new hires as a stand-alone briefing session or as part of the induction security briefing. All personnel, including those visiting the country, are provided with an induction briefing on their PSEA obligations.
