RESPONSE OVERVIEW

In 2022, humanitarian partners reached 9.6 million people across Sudan with some form of humanitarian assistance. This is 88 per cent of the 10.9 million people targeted for assistance in the 2022 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP). However, this does not mean that all those people received the full and comprehensive assistance packages or range of services that they needed. In many instances, the assisted people were provided with either a partial package or a certain type or amount of needed assistance, while their other needs were not met due to funding constraints or other challenges and gaps.

New global emergencies such as the war in Ukraine affected the funding Sudan received in 2022. The resulting funding constraints prevented humanitarian partners from responding effectively. Humanitarian organizations continue to advocate for timely and flexible funding as needs continue to grow.
