In a first reaction to requests for voting extension, the National Elections Commission (NEC) has announced that a decision will be made after studying incoming reports about the elections situation on the ground.
Head of the NEC's technical committee, Al Hadi Muhamed Ahmed, told Radio Miraya that the Commission will address on Monday the technical glitches encountered during the start of polls.
However, he said that some mistakes can only be resolved through legal means.
Earlier, the information official in the National Elections Commission, Abu Bakir Waziri, announced extension of closing hours at polling centers across the country starting from today until the end of elections.
He said the decision aims to help overcome technical errors met during the voting process.
