The Lakes State Legislative Assembly has called on all the United Nations agencies to intervene as the humanitarian situation in the area gets worst, following violent clashes that killed several citizens. The speaker of the State Assembly, Gordon Mathur said hundreds of citizens in the state have fled their homes. He said the assembly would convene an emmergency session on Monday to discuss the growing insecurity and the deteriorating humanitarian sitaution. Meanwhile the state's deputy governor, David Nuak Marial says the state is enjoying relative stability after heavy police deployment.
