September 2023: Clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) broke out on 15 April 2023. The crisis happened amidst a complex and protracted humanitarian context, as Sudan was already facing multiple crises due to recurrent flooding, food insecurity, prolonged internal displacement, and inter-communal conflict. Urgent humanitarian education assistance is needed to support 8.6 million school-aged children who face multiple risks in Sudan. Scaling up lifesaving and life-sustaining education assistance and providing protective services are critical in addressing the tides of the ongoing crisis on children.
