Sudan Humanitarian Update (January - February 2026)

HIGHLIGHTS

• Drone strikes and escalating violence in Kordofan are increasing civilian casualties, damaging civilian infrastructure, deepening needs, hindering humanitarian access, driving displacement and overwhelming already fragile services.
• The security situation across the Darfur region continues to deteriorate, with intensifying violence killing and injuring civilians, spreading fear and triggering new waves of displacement.
• The 2026 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan launched in February is just over 15 per cent funded, limiting the scale-up of life-saving assistance.
