During the first six months of 2018, the Sudan Humanitarian Fund (SHF) allocated over US$24.9 million.
The first allocation of $3 million aimed to improve sanitation and to prevent Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD) outbreaks in West Kordofan, Red Sea, and White Nile states for both refugee and host communities.
The second allocation of $20.2 million focused on addressing the needs of recently displaced people in and around Jebel Marra; the needs of people living in protracted displacement or who have returned to their areas of origin in Darfur; supporting refugees living outside camps in Darfur; and responding to the drought and nutrition crisis in Kassala State.
In addition, a Reserve for Emergencies window of $6 million was opened to respond to unforeseen emergencies. $1.6 million has been allocated for 4 projects.
