ENVIRONMENT MARKER

Each humanitarian project should identify its potential impact on the local environment, and address it in a manner which is tailored to the specific country.

Through simple coding using the letters A, B and C, with a plus sign (+) for adequate enhancement or mitigation measures, the Environment Marker tracks a project’s expected impact on the environment, and whether recommended actions have been undertaken. The tool is to be seen as a possibility to ensure that any negative impact on the local environment of a humanitarian project is reduced as much as possible.
