Warrap State Legislative Assembly formed a fact-finding committee to investigate the recent violent clashes that occurred in the state. During the incident, 140 people were killed and many others wounded. Speaking to Miraya FM, member of the committee, Joesph Mayom Mayom, described the humanitarian situation as "bad", urging aid agencies to intervene and rescue the situation.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) said it has dispatched a team to assess humanitarian conditions in the area. UNMIS Spokesperson, Ashraf Eissa, told Miraya FM that the mission is working in concert with the Government of Southern Sudan to reduce tribal tensions in the region. Issa added that the UNMIS team 'aims to see the facts on the ground, and assist the humanitarian situation'. He said that the humanitarian organizations have already started operating in the area.
