It said the commission would be chaired by a top official of the Justice Ministry and would be responsible for revising existing laws in line with IHL provisions.
The commission, to include representatives of relevant State bodies and individuals, would consult with civil society groups and trade unions when necessary, the statement said.
"The formation of this commission was inspired by our deep faith in the principles of the International Humanitarian Law and the government's keen desire to apply the principles in the country," it added.
