The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent
a special flight containing medical materials and basic goods to Darfur.
The humanitarian flight, which was organised by the Directorate for Development
Cooperation, is transporting approximately 20 tonnes worth of goods supplied
by Italian authorities and NGOs.
The airplane left from Brindisi and
is bound for Nyala, where it should arrive by this evening. The goods will
be delivered to Barbara Contini, the government's special envoy to Darfur
for development cooperation activities.
