Sudan: 7 killed in inter-tribal clashes in Bor County

In Jonglei State, seven people were killed in inter-tribal clashes in Bor County. County Commissioner, Maker Lual Kuol, told Miraya FM that gunmen from the Murle tribe launched attacks on several areas in the county this week causing instability. He urged the Government of Southern Sudan (GoSS) to disarm these groups. Maker noted that the authorities in Bor have so far succeeded in collecting more than seven hundred arms from county citizens. He added disarmament will continue until all targets are met.

Deputy Governor of Jonglei State, Hussein Mar Nyuot, praised the voluntary disarmament in the area. Mar Nyuot, lauded the peaceful operation which covered seven counties in the State, and resulted in the collection of a large number of arms from citizens.
