KHARTOUM, 25th November, 2017 (WAM) -- The Sheikha Fatima Global Humanitarian Campaign has begun providing medical treatment to hundreds of children via its mobile clinics and field hospitals in various Sudanese villages.

The latest leg of the international campaign - which provides humanitarian aid to people in many poverty-stricken regions around the world - was launched to coincide with International Children's Day on November 20th, and utilises the help and support of local volunteers and institutions.

Noura Al Suwaidi, Director of the General Women's Union, said that the campaign in its current station in Sudan succeeded in treating hundreds of sick children in Sudanese villages as part of an annual volunteer programme, and hopes to reach thousands of others.

The mobile hospitals are equipped with the latest medical equipment including consultation units, a laboratory, and a pharmacy, providing all-encompassing medical solutions to patients.

Al Suwaidi added that H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, is keen on implementing initiatives that provide health and educational services to children and women, and her sustainable social programmes have so far benefited millions of people without discrimination, around the world.
