Executive Summary
In October 2025, Qatar Charity initiated a targeted health sector intervention in Sudan’s Al Jazirah and Red Sea States in response to escalating public health emergencies, notably widespread outbreaks of dengue fever and cholera. These outbreaks severely strained local health systems already burdened by resource limitations and seasonal flooding.
Qatar Charity’s intervention was structured around two strategic pillars:
- Static Health Unit to deliver immediate, life-saving healthcare services.
- Provision of Neonatal Care Support to enhance maternal and newborn health services in underserved hospitals.
- Static Health Unit: Expanding Access to Essential Care
To address the urgent healthcare needs of remote and underserved communities, Qatar Charity established a fully equipped Static Health Unit staffed by qualified medical professionals. This facility serves as a critical access point for communities where primary health services are either overwhelmed or inaccessible.
